The Penkule Evangelical Lutheran Church was built in 1691 and restored in 1865. It had operated as an auxiliary church of Kalnamuiža. The church stands out with its unusual altar which is located on the northern side of the church, unlike other churches where the altars are located on the eastern side. In the 1960’s, the church housed a warehouse of a collective farm, but some years later it was transformed into a gym. After recovering the church, the parishioners restored it. At the end of 1998, the new church tower and the bell cast in 1598, which had once been installed in the Sesava Church, were consecrated.
