The present railway station was built in 1926 in accordance with the construction plan developed by architect Pēteris Feders, the nephew of the painter Jūlijs Feders, which describes the construction of railway stations in the 1920’s. The building is still peculiarly elegant and fine, which is complemented by the adjacent water tower built around 1872. Until 2010, it had a connection with Riga, Auce, and Reņģe. In 2005, one episode from the Latvian film The Defenders of Riga, more specifically, the scene where Latvian Army returns to Riga, was filmed in the Bēne Railway Station. The railway station is currently closed.
